> GETTING_STARTED

Up and running
in 60 seconds.

From signup to live tracking in three steps. No developer needed.

Before you begin

You'll need the following before installing:

  • An approved AEOfix account — sign up at the AI Bot Tracker page if you haven't yet.
  • Access to add code to your website — this varies by platform. See the platform guides in Step 2 below.
  • Your unique Site ID and snippet — shown in your dashboard after login.
Note: Your snippet is displayed at the top of your dashboard at all times. It is personalized to your Site ID and includes your security key if you have rotated it.

Three steps to go live

1 Log in and copy your snippet

  • Log in to your AEOfix dashboard.
  • Your snippet is shown in the banner at the top of the dashboard — click Copy snippet.
  • The snippet is already personalized with your Site ID — no editing required.

2 Paste it on your site

Find your platform below and follow the guide:

WordPress Plugin method or footer.php — 60 seconds Squarespace Code injection in site settings Webflow Custom code in project settings Shopify theme.liquid before </body> Wix Tracking & Analytics custom code Ghost Code injection footer in settings Framer Custom code in site settings end of <body> Carrd Embed widget set to head or body Weebly Footer code in site settings Bubble HTML element or reusable element
Note: Not on this list? The snippet is pure HTML/JS. If your platform lets you add custom HTML before </body>, it works. Paste it there.

3 Verify it's working

Confirm the snippet is firing before you wait for real bot visits. See our verification guide →

What to expect

  • First bot visit: AI crawlers typically hit new pages within 24–72 hours of the snippet going live.
  • Dashboard data: Bot visits appear in real time once your snippet fires and a bot makes a request.
  • No visits yet? Check the verify guide — most issues are a missing publish step on the platform side.
  • Common first bots: GPTBot (OpenAI), ClaudeBot (Anthropic), Googlebot, and Bingbot are typically among the first to arrive.
